I believe that Monroe’s greatest strength is its people. As your Mayor, I will bridge the gap between City Hall and the community, ensuring that leadership reflects the values of the residents it serves.

Kevin Lollock has been a proud Monroe resident for the past six years and retired in 2024 after a successful 40-year career in engineering and organizational management with Zebra Technologies. Throughout his career, he managed budgets and led teams of more than 40 engineers, focusing on streamlining operations across manufacturing, healthcare, and government sectors. Kevin and his wife have grown to deeply appreciate Monroe’s vibrant, engaged, and caring community, which is what motivates him to run for Mayor. He is committed to preserving Monroe’s unique charm while helping the city move forward by supporting the 2025–2045 Comprehensive Plan through open dialogue, transparency, and fiscally responsible decision-making. His professional background has been built on solving complex problems, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation—skills he believes directly translate to the leadership Monroe needs to grow and thrive.

Key Priorities for Monroe

  • Economic Expansion: Identify growth sectors (Tech, Healthcare, Logistics) and transforming Monroe into a premier destination for tourism.
  • Housing Solutions: Address the stagnation in housing (only 14 new units/year since 2000) and the gap between rising home values and median income.
  • Population Revitalization: Reverse the population decline by modernizing the city’s approach to growth and beautifying city access points.

A Leader Who Unites.
A Community That Thrives.

  • Building a Cohesive Vision: My #1 goal is to foster a culture of collaboration between city leaders, local organizations, and residents. I believe we achieve more when our community leaders are rowing in the same direction with a direct eye on the community at large versus a micro-view on individual elements.
  • A “Community First” Conduit: I will act as a direct link for outreach, making local government more accessible. I am committed to being a mayor who listens first, ensuring that diverse perspectives are considered before decisions are made.
  • Leading Without Bias: Local progress shouldn’t be stalled by partisan politics. My leadership style is rooted in non-partisan problem solving, putting the “unique charm” and future growth of Monroe ahead of personal or political interests.
  • Proven Collaborative Success: With a 40-year career managing large, diverse teams, I have a track record of inspiring groups toward common goals. My purpose and goal will be to apply this experience to unite the City Council and the community under a shared plan for 2045.

Fiscal Responsibility

  • Balanced Budgets, Better Future.
  • The Problem: Folks are feeling the pinch – From 2020 to 2023, Monroe’s taxation rate grew faster than median income (34% vs 29%).
  • Solution:
    • Needs vs. Wants: I will apply a lifetime of professional budget management to distinguish between critical city infrastructure and optional spending.
    • Protecting Fixed Incomes: I will ensure that residents on fixed incomes aren’t priced out of their own homes by unchecked tax increases.
    • Operational Efficiency: By utilizing my experience gained during a 40-year career in streamlining healthcare and manufacturing systems, I will work to find and implement cost-saving efficiencies within city government.

Strategic Plan

  • Executing the 2025-2045 Plan: I fully support the Monroe Comprehensive Plan to modernize our city.
  • Targeting Growth Sectors: Actively attract high-value industries like Tech, Remote Work Hubs, Manufacturing Innovation, Transportation, and Health Services to create local, high-paying jobs.
  • Destination Monroe: Shift Monroe from a “stop on the way” to a premier destination through downtown beautification and enhanced retail/hospitality support.
  • Attracting Families: Create a variety of housing options to ensure young families can afford to stay and grow in our community.
